LOVE OVER HATE DEMONSTRATION
Today, May 16th, 2:15-3:30pm
CB West High School (meet on School Ln, next to War Memorial Field)

Yesterday a hate group held a demonstration outside of Central Bucks West High School in Doylestown, yelling at students during dismissal. The adult led event included signs and messages against Muslims, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people, and against women’s rights.

We will not sit by while our community and students are targeted with this hatred and vitriol. We stand for LOVE, for peace, for equity, inclusivity and to build beloved community.
In rapid response and in collaboration with several area organizations, we will come together as the peaceful, loving and welcoming community we are working toward with messages of love, support and kindness – to show hate groups and our students that hate has no home in Doylestown. We know from years of researching and working against hate groups that one of the ways they explore new communities to recruit or organize in is to stage smaller demonstrations. If no response – they assume they are welcome and move closer in. Strong, unified messages condemning their hatred, and in support of Love, Peace and Beloved Community let them know that they are not welcome in a community. Let’s do this!
