About Our Celebration

Pebble Elder Norm Danis will speak on Gratitude in this Thanksgiving Season. Celebrate the harvest: Bring a pie to share following the celebration!

Rev. Cynthia Greb has been blessed to have traveled a bit across this continent over the course of the past twenty years. During that time, she has witnessed and/or participated in a number of Native American ceremonies in PA, MD, NY, SD, NM, CO, CA and OR.

She was also honored to have been given a tour of the Cheyenne Reservation in Montana, and was further honored to have been taken to two of their most sacred places.  Then, a year later, she had the honor of living for a week with a Salish elder, who happens to be a feisty woman and gifted songwriter and musician.

These experiences have awakened her to some of the issues past and present, which weigh on the hearts of Native people.

Part of Cynthia’s intention as she continues to travel around the country is to offer prayers at “the wounded places.”  Some of the places which carry the most heartache and sorrow are the many sites of the massacres of Native people.

Cynthia will share with the congregation some suggestions about what each of us can do to take gentle steps toward healing the painful past and present, so that we can collectively move toward a more peaceful and just future.
