Dear Ones,
This afternoon I attended a virtual event sponsored by the Peace Center, which involved viewing the film “Walking While Black” about police violence against people of color, followed by a discussion in breakout groups. I found it eye-opening and moving and the analysis and approach ground-breaking and hopeful. It was co-sponsored by the Morrisville, Yardley and Falls Township police departments. The approach and recommendations seem progressive and the efforts of the local participants from law enforcement very sincere. In fact, Bucks County has a plan for all of its police departments to experience this film.
The next showing is on Tuesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30. After the screening there will be breakout groups for participants. This one is co-sponsed by the Quakertown School District. I recommend and encourage you to participate; it evolved my awareness of this issue.
