Thanks for the great Celebration today, Nancy, Susan and Dave!
Here are 3 more no-kills rescues in the area with which I’m familiar. All of these are open to volunteers and donations.
Wet Nose Rescue is run by my neighbors and rescues dogs. Located in Feasterville, they’re always looking for people to foster their rescued dogs until they find homes. https://wetnoserescue.org/
Cats Bridge to Rescue brought us Truman and Basil. Very kind people with a community of shelter cats. The rescue is in Trevose and they show some cats in Petco Feasterville. They’re not easy to reach, may respond best to text. Contact me if you have trouble getting through. They have a fundraiser coming up on Nov 6th. https://catsbridge.org/
And, how about a pig rescue? Who knew? Ross Mill Farm is in nearby Rushland and it’s amazing to see the hundreds of pigs they shelter. Too many people get “teacup pigs,” thinking they can keep them as pets in their house. These piglets grow up and become larger than expected, then become unwanted. Ross Mill takes pigs of any size, cares for them and adopts them out. They also board people’s pet pigs. Tours used to be free, then suspended during pandemic, now I think they require registration and a fee for tours. https://rossmillfarm.com/
Finally, please congratulate Hiro (and me 🙂 who’s turning 2 on Friday and finally had his neuter operation. Poor guy has tolerated his cone and is almost finished the recovery period. He’ll be healthier, live longer, and play more peacefully with his dog buddies!
