Living with your MUSE
Speaker: Gretchen Altabef
A Celebration of Bridget at the Well of Creativity
Presented by Revs Susan Manning, Caryn Cziriak, Siobhan Cominsky, Gretchen Altabef
Learn about Bridget the goddess who stirs the well of creativity for writers, artists, musicians in this chilly time of the year. We will walk the labyrinth and invite our MUSE to inspire us. But be aware, and listen well, the MUSE may shake us up a bit!
MUSE: If you look it up it’s defined as a bevy of young beautiful Greek goddess types who inspire artists, writers, musicians, performers, and dreamers. My muse usually wears a frock coat and topper. Tall, thin, sharp-featured, intense grey-green eyes, a genius with an acerbic wit, a master chemist, semi-pro bare-knuckled boxer, as well as martial arts wrestler, a master swordsman, and crack shot. He memorized a century of crime, specifically murder, can distinguish between 140 types of tobacco ash, can crack any cipher man can come up with, and tell where you just came from by the mud on your clothes. He can unmask you by the calluses on your hands, your breathing, clothing, scent, shirt cuffs, the expression on your face, and your fitness to begin with. He learned meditation from the 13th Dalai Lama and has an occasional taste for cocaine. Is it clear who my muse is?
Gretchen Altabef has been an artist all her life, she has been reborn from the ashes as a novelist & her 1st book will be published in 2019.
From Celebration, we will transition to a drum circle. Please bring your drum, and we have a few to share. These drums will be located behind the circle of chairs, please take one if you so choose. Rev. Caryn Cziriak will lead the circle.
Celebration begins at 10:30 a.m. See you there!
