Today we left our 2nd Home — Poyntelle, PA. Back from creating our 48th Pebble Camp. Back from the joy of building our community by living together for a week in the mountains. Like the songs says, we met new friends and kept the old.
This was a year of many Camp reunions. For me, who is a hermit novelist, being surrounded by so many friends was especially wonderful.
The Camp Board meetings that led up to Camp 2021 were the first time during this pandemic that I hung-out with other humans. The tough question about do we require immunization or not was filled with intelligent and difficult discussion. And when the variant gained power, we added testing to it. And this foresight allowed us to have a Camp filled with love and Pebble hugs.
Today we separated into our individual cars and drove off the mountain through the rain. We carried the wonder and joy of Pebble Camp back to our lives for another year. Thank you all. I miss you and love you. See you next year!
