FILM PREMIERE SUNDAY OCTOBER 1

Mark your calendars for this Sunday at the County Theater!

October marks the advent of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  A Woman’s Place (AWP) of Bucks Co. has a fundraiser this Sunday in the form of a film premiere.

The film is HIDE, written and directed by Doylestown native Ben Samuels.  Filmed largely in Doylestown, Ben has cast a spotlight on the complexities of domestic violence through the eyes of one survivor.

Although Ben now resides in New York, he was able to draw upon his local allies to help, saying “I’m so excited to premiere this powerful film in my hometown before we embark on a three-week roadshow across the country, screening at beautiful cinemas alongside hardworking non-profits and shelters like A Woman’s Place who are doing the essential work to support and empower survivors. HIDE was made by the Doylestown community, who volunteered meals, wardrobe, locations, and more at the height of the pandemic to tell this meaningful story. I can’t think of a better place to come together, mark the start of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and launch this year’s Bucks Fever Film Fest!”

Tickets for this AWP fundraiser are available online at the county theater.  The film will begin at 7PM and tickets are $20.
